Technician performing OEM-approved calibration and measuring cell replacement on ODME and OMD systems during dry dock at Varna Shipyard

OEM approved ODME, OMD, gas sampling, and portable instrument calibration services completed during dry dock in Varna Shipyard, ensuring full compliance with IMO and class requirements.

During a scheduled dry dock at Varna Shipyard, our service team successfully completed OEM approved calibration, repair, and measuring cell replacement for critical pollution prevention and monitoring equipment onboard.

The scope included RIVERTRACE SMART ODME and DECKMA OMD24 systems, where measuring cells were replaced strictly in accordance with OEM instructions. Each system underwent calibration checks, full function testing, and certification to confirm accurate oil content monitoring and alarm response before vessel redelivery.

In addition, the Consilium Salwico SW20202 gas sampling system was repaired and calibrated to restore reliable gas detection and sampling performance. Calibration of portable pressure and temperature instruments was also performed, ensuring traceable accuracy for onboard maintenance and operational checks.

Modern ODME and OMD systems are designed to deliver continuous, precise monitoring of oily water discharge, even under demanding operational conditions. Their modular construction allows for efficient servicing, while built-in diagnostics support fast verification after maintenance helping crews maintain compliance without unnecessary downtime. These systems play a critical role in protecting the marine environment while supporting safe and compliant vessel operation.

Regulatory Compliance
Calibration and functional verification of ODME, OMD, and associated instruments are required under IMO MARPOL, SOLAS, ISM Code, and are routinely checked during SIRE 2.0 and GVP inspections. Manufacturers and industry best practice recommend annual calibration or verification during dry dock, or immediately after sensor replacement or repair.
