Oil content monitor calibration is performed onboard.
For tankers and vessels subject to international discharge regulations, reliable Oil Discharge Monitoring Equipment (ODME) isn’t just a requirement it’s a key part of staying compliant and avoiding costly detentions or fines. The Brannstrom Cleantrack 1000 ODME is a fourth generation oil discharge monitoring and control system designed to meet the latest IMO MEPC.108(49) and MEPC.240(65) standards and is approved for a wide range of fuel types, including bio‑fuel blends.
This compact and robust unit measures oil content accurately, monitors discharge flow, and logs data automatically. Its smart detachable measuring cell simplifies onboard maintenance and makes periodic calibration checks straightforward. Data access via the LCD interface, USB output, or optional printer ensures crews and surveyors can readily confirm compliance with oil discharge limits and record keeping requirements.
Under MARPOL Annex I, all oil tankers of 150 GT and above must use an approved ODME system to control oily water discharge and ensure limits like no more than 30 litres per nautical mile are adhered to. The monitoring data must be recorded and retained for inspection. Regular calibration and functional checks of the ODME’s oil content meter help maintain accuracy and regulatory compliance. Industry practice recommends that the instrument’s measuring cell be verified frequently, with full calibration every five years or sooner in line with IMO survey expectations and manufacturer guidance.
We provide professional onboard ODME services including calibration, preventive maintenance, inspection support, troubleshooting, and documentation in key ports and regions across Spain, Gibraltar, Bulgaria, Turkey, Romania, Netherlands, France, Germany, and Italy, and at major hubs from Algeciras to Hamburg, Marseille to Piraeus, and beyond. By partnering with us, your vessel stays compliant, accurate, and ready for PSC and SIRE 2.0 checks.
